Generate Instagram Access Token ( Business Account )

Prerequisites

• A Facebook Page where you’re an admin.
• An Instagram Business Account
• Your Instagram Business Account must be linked to your Facebook Page.

Step 1: Connect Your Instagram Account to Your Facebook Page

1. Log in to Facebook.
2. Switch to your Page (look for “Pages” on the left sidebar or top navigation).
3. In-Page Settings or Linked Accounts, find “Instagram”.
4. Click “Connect Account”, then enter your Instagram Business credentials.
5. Grant the required permissions until you see “Done.”

Step 2: Create a New App in Meta for Developers

1. Go to Meta for Developers and log in with the same Facebook account.
2. Click “My Apps” → “Create App.”

Step 3: Provide Basic App Details

1. Enter an App Name.
2. Add an App Contact Email.
3. Click “Next.”

Step 4: Specify Your App’s Use Cases

1. You’ll see prompts like “Run ads,” “Access the Threads API,” etc.
2. Select “Other” (or whichever best fits your goal).
3. Click “Next.”

Step 5: Choose an App Type

1. You may see “Consumer” or “Business.”
2. Select “Business.”
3. Click “Next.”

Step 6: Finalize App Creation

1. Review your settings.
2. Click “Create App.”
3. Enter your Facebook password if prompted.

Step 7: Enable “Facebook Login for Business”

1. In your app’s Dashboard, scroll to “Add products to your app.”
2. Find “Facebook Login for Business” and click “Set Up.”
3. Choose the permissions or features you need and click “Save Changes.”

Step 8: Generate Your Instagram Access Token

• Open the Graph API Explorer:
  • Go to Tools → Graph API Explorer, or visit
    https://developers.facebook.com/tools/explorer/.
• Select your new app from the dropdown.
• Add the required permissions, e.g.:

pages_show_list
business_management
instagram_basic
instagram_manage_comments
instagram_manage_insights
pages_read_engagement

• Click “Generate Access Token.”
• In the pop-up:
  • Allow permissions for your Facebook account.
  • Pick the Facebook Page and Instagram Business Account you want.
  • Click “Continue” or “Confirm.”
• Copy the Access Token.

(Optional) Extend to a Long-Lived Token

1. Go to Access Token Debugger.
2. Paste your Access Token and click “Debug.”
3. Scroll down and select “Extend Access Token.”
   • A long-lived token typically remains valid for about 60 days.

Step 9: Integrate the Access Token with the Divi Instagram Feed

1. Log in to WordPress and navigate to Divi → Instagram Feed.
2. Paste your Access Token into the “Access Token” field.
3. Click “Connect.”

That’s it! You can now display Instagram posts from your Business account through Divi Instagram Feed on your WordPress site.
